Fife and drum at Fort Napoleon #2 - Brighton Camp/The Girl I Left Behind Me
A popular folksong that is also a famous march, played usually when e company/regiment/... left or returned to barracks, encampment, hometown, ... The following are lyrics dating back to circa 1790. There are however different versions that have been sung throughout the history of the song. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm lonesome since I crossed the hill, And o'er the moor and valley. Fife and drum at Fort Napoleon #4 - Marsch Des Yorck'schen Korps
The March for Military Band No. 1 in F major, woo 18, was written by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1808 or 1809 as a march Für die Böhmische Landwehr (For the Bohemian Militia). It was the first of three military marches written by Beethoven. From the name of the Prussian General Yorck, Beethoven's march is also known as Yorckscher Marsch or Marsch des Yorck'schen Korps (Armeemarsch II, 103 (Armeemarsch II, 37) and Heeresmarsch II, 5), was composed in 1808 in F-Major as a "March for the böhmische Landwehr". Since Prussia and the Prussian army played a big role in the German states, the march is also often played and one of the most important German military marches. Today, It is the traditional March of the Wachbataillon, the German Bundeswehr's elite drill unit, it is also played at the first march at the Grand Tattoo and it was the traditional March of the East German armed forces.

Several quick marches that Jacob Rauscher, a German musician working in the Netherlands, composed for the infantry of the Kingdom of the United Netherlands (+- present day's Netherlands and Belgium) in 1814. *The fife part as played here is not 100% in accordance with the sheet music by Rauscher*
